✨Lush’s Fave Drugstore Foundations ✨

Posted by on

If you've been following the blog for a while then you know that I'm all about the affordable niche. As a teacher and a business owner, there is pretty much nothing left over for lush at the end of the month - and so we must make do! Luckily for us, some of the major drug store brands have really stepped up their formulas in the last few years and can even give some department store brands a run for their money. You can pretty much make any drug store foundation last if you have a good primer and/or a great setting powder. If you are someone like me who likes to change formulas with the weather, the seasons, and depending on make up looks, then you may consider giving one of my favorites a try along with your best primer or setting powder!

Lo'real Day Wear:

Pro's: Long lasting Formula, Natural Matte Finish (not too dry), Light Weight, Fresh scent, Decent

Cons: Not enough dark/deep shades

Tips: Use with the Lo'real infallible full wear concealer!

Maybelline Superstay:

Pro's:  Full coverage formula,  natural matte finish

Cons: Can feel heavy on the skin

Tips: Bake this foundation to prevent separation, especially if you are oily!

Lo'real Infallible Pro Matte Foundation:

Pro’s: Ultra matte, full coverage, long lasting

Cons: Extremely limited shade range

Maybelline Fit Me:

Pro’s:  Most affordable at walmart ($6.94).  Best drug store shade range. Great for MUA starter kits.

Con’s: both formulas (dewy and matte) are oily.

Tips: Use with high quality mattifying setting powders to increase wear time!

 NXY Can't Stop Won't Stop:

Pro’s: Full coverage. Great deep shade range.

Con’s: Can be drying, especially for dry skin. Does oxidize.

Tips: Apply in small sections and move quickly. Set with a True Tone or translucent powder to compensate for oxidation.
